Who can see what I say? Privacy in Transcript
Honest answers only happen when people trust where their words go. So here is exactly where they go.
Your manager never sees your words
Your conversations are private. Your manager, and management in general, never sees what you say in Transcript. This is not a policy promise sitting in a drawer; it is enforced in how the product is built. Managers have no way to open your conversation.
What managers actually see
Managers get a dashboard with numbers only:
- How many people on the team have participated
- How far each person's interview has progressed (a percentage)
- Counts of messages and learnings per day
Numbers, never content. They can see that you sent 12 messages on Tuesday. They cannot see a single word of them.
What administrators see
Your company's Transcript administrator manages accounts. They can see your name, email, job title, and department. They cannot read your conversations either.
What Transcript does with your words
- Your conversations are processed by AI to extract learnings: short observations about how work happens, each backed by a quote from what you said.
- Everything extracted about you is visible to you on the My learnings page. Nothing is captured behind your back, and you can challenge anything that is wrong. See Reviewing and correcting your learnings.
- Learnings feed the operational review in aggregate, combined with input from across the company.
What Transcript does NOT do
- Your data is never used to train AI models.
- Transcript does not record your screen, your audio, or anything outside the chat. Voice dictation converts your speech to text in the moment; you see the text before you send it.
- Your conversation content stays within your organisation's review. It is not shared with other companies or published anywhere.
Your data, stored securely
Conversations and profile data are stored securely and used only to power your Transcript experience. You can review how your data is handled any time on your Profile page.
Deleting your account
Contact your company's Transcript administrator to have your account removed. Deleting your account removes your personal data with it.
